Natividad Aguayo Arrabal holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from the University of Granada (2008) and has been a Sworn Translator and Interpreter for English since 2009. In 2017, she earned her Ph.D. in Translation and Interpretation from Pablo de Olavide University in Seville (UPO), where she taught as a temporary substitute professor from 2011 to 2019. Since September 2022, she has been an assistant professor in the Department of Translation and Interpretation at the University of Málaga. During the 2019–2020 academic year, she was responsible for managing the Erasmus Mundus PETaL (Play, Education, Toys, and Languages) Master’s program, funded by the European Commission and coordinated by the University of Córdoba, in partnership with the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute (IPL) and Marmara University (Turkey). Since 2013, she has participated in several competitively awarded research projects, both at the national level (COMINTRAD, R&D&I “Societal Challenges” MINECO) and at the regional level (LINGUAPP: Ensuring Access to Inclusive Second-Language Learning, PRY 208/17, Andalusian Studies Center), related to interlinguistic and intercultural communication processes in exporting companies and second-language acquisition in virtual learning environments. Since October 2018, she has been a member of the Interglosia research group (HUM-996) at the UPO.

Her main fields of interest are translation training, interdisciplinarity in Translation and Interpreting, professional intercultural communication processes, and the acquisition of second languages in virtual environments.
